Barcelona economic situation is seriously affecting their performance at transfer market this summer as they are yet to sign a new player and other stars like Gavi and Ousmane Dembélé are yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
The Frenchman’s contract expires on the 30th of June and the club still stand on the offer he rejected in December.
Xavi Hernandez once rejected the forward’s plea to intervene in the negotiation saga but responded to a fan when asked about Dembélé’s future.
“It depends on him,” he told the cameras.
This simply means that that decision to stay or leave is in Dembélé’s hand.
As the final day of his contract approaches, and considering Barcelona’s economy condition, it will be easier to renew his contract than to sign a new one.
