Continental football governing body UEFA after considering reports and video footage, have imposed a fine of 10,000 euros on Manchester United for not controlling their supporters during the Champions League round of 16 second leg at Old Trafford against Atletico Madrid.

Footage had United supporters throwing objects at Diego Simeone, when the final whistle was blown, leading to their exit in champions League Round of 16.

“Coming off the pitch, I ran because I was happy and I like to enjoy myself in the dressing room. I don’t know what else happened,” Simeone detailed in his post-match press conference.

For such events, in accordance with Article 16 (2) (a). In the eyes of most people it is seen as a paltry punishment, but it is true that it is the fine that the UEFA regulations stipulate.
