Thomas Muller to stay at Bayern Munich for two more years.
The German playmaker has renewed his contract with Bayern Munich until 2024.
“I’m very happy,” Muller said as the news was confirmed. “The road I’ve travelled since I joined the youth academy in 2000 has been a wonderful success story.
“I enjoy representing these colours on and off the pitch every year. Even when the going gets tough.”
Muller made his debut at Bayern on August 15, 2008 and have had a successful stay at the club.
The 32-year-old has won 11 league titles, six DFB Pokals, seven German Supercups, two Champions Leagues, two European Super Cups and two Club World Cups with the Bavarian club.
He has made 624 appearances, scoring 226 goals and providing 242 assists. This he has 12 goals and 24 assists in 43 matches for the club.
“You can’t imagine Thomas Muller without Bayern and you can’t imagine Bayern without Thomas Muller,” said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. “He is a hungry leader and a role model. We are very happy that he will continue until 2024.”
“He is a role model,” said chairman Oliver Kahn. “He has the Bayern crest in his heart. He is a very important figure in the dressing room.”
