Ronald Araujo is excited see competition for place in Barcelona as the club prepares for yet another 2022/23 challenging season.

Xavi Hernandez is determined to tighten up every position at Barcelona with at least two competent players.

The Uruguayan international secured a first team role last twelve months after an impressive performance but may face competition next season from new arrivals.

The 23-year-old agreed a contract extension in April to 2026, after a prolonged Negotiations between his representative and the club.

Araujo is determined to maintain his position at Barcelona as he is ready to face whatever competition that’ll come his way.

“Competition is always good in football, because it brings the best from you, and players arrive who can contribute”, as per reports from Mundo Deportivo.

“I want the best for Barca and to add that to the team.

“We all wanted Ousmane to continue in the team and Lewandowski joining us is a tremendous move.”

Araujo is part of Barcelona squad that traveled to the United States for preseason as the club prepares for a new season next month.

They start their pre-season preparations against Inter Miami on July 20 before facing age old rivals Real Madrid four days later.
