Albanian Police clashed with Roma and Feyenoord fans in Tirana last night and 48 Italian supporters were arrested, according to reports.

The Serie A and Dutch giants meet at the Arena Kombëtare tonight in the first-ever Conference League Final, but many fans have travelled to Tirana without a ticket for the game. More than 50,000 supporters have arrived in the Albanian capital, but the stadium’s capacity is only 20,000.

Fans of the two teams clashed in the streets last night, forcing local authorities to intervene. According to Il Corrirere dello Sport, 60 people were arrested, including 48 fans from Italy. At least 15 people were wounded, and three are believed to be Italians. Nine were taken to hospital.

The Rome-based paper quotes the owner of a pub in the city centre, the Dorgen Bar, where a huge scuffle involving Albanian and Dutch fans erupted.

“It all started when a man who had been beaten, started shouting ‘Roma, Roma.’ Despite our attempts to calm things down, a scuffle between Albanian and Dutch fans began and the first one had the worst.”

Dutch fans headed toward the stadium and local police confirmed three more incidents involving Roma fans. Following the incidents, at least 15 Giallorossi supporters were taken to a police station.
