Marcelo has bid farewell to Real Madrid.

Marcelo today bid farewell to Real Madrid after 15 year at the club, winning all trophies.

The Brazilian joined the club from Fluminense in 2007 and ended up been Real Madrid most decorated player in the club’s history. Winning six La Liga titles and six Champions League titles.

He made it known that he wanted to stay at the club but was not offered a contract extension.

The 34-year-old evidently feels that he still has a lot to contribute.

“I will not retire, not now,” he said at his farewell. “I feel I can still play. Facing Real Madrid? It will not be a problem. I am a big Madridista but I am also a big professional.”

His teammate Sergio Ramos, made a touching Instagram post.

“Brother, you say goodbye today, but your legacy is eternal”.

“Congratulations on achieving the impossible. A big kiss.”

Marcelo has 58 caps to his name for Brazil, 545 appearances for Madrid. He scored 38 goals and made 103 assists.
