Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is getting back to work at Barcelona in bid to prove his manager wrong ahead of the new season. According to Dailymail.
Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez, in a meeting with the defender told Pique that he had no future at the club, due to his unprofessional conduct off the field and his deteriorating physical condition.
Pique who is reportedly among the highest earners at Barcelona, was told that he was no longer part of his plans and that he could leave the Nou Camp this summer despite remaining in contract until 2024.
The defender has put Xavi’s comments behind and he is determined to work harder to prove him wrong this coming season.
He is training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper Barcelona’s training ground.
Pique also replied Juan Laporta for claiming to bring in a world class defender in a bid to transform Barcelona defence.
‘I’ll be a starter. If you have the guts, bring the best central defender in the world, who will come as a substitute.’
