Footage from the champions league game between Manchester City and Real Madrid revealed that City fans pointed laser pen on Karim Benzema when the Real Madrid striker was about taking a late penalty at the Etihad on Tuesday.

Manchester City were leading 4-2 at the time, when the referee awarded a spot kick for Los Blancos resulting from Aymeric Laporte’s handball.

Benzema who already missed penalty kicks last week during their league match at Osasuna, stepped out to score with a Panenka penalty.

“I always get it into my head that if you don’t take the penalty, you don’t miss the penalty,” Benzema said after the game.

“I have a lot of confidence in myself, I do it and it’s fine.”

The striker displayed total comportment and intelligence despite been targeted by a laser pen by Manchester City fans.
