After sealing the transfer of four new arrivals, many would think Barcelona will leave the transfer market this summer to focus on other things. Rather the Blaugrana still have plenty of business planned, as report by Mundo Deportivo.
The first was the arrival of Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen from Milan and Chelsea respectively on free transfer, then Ousmane Dembele returned to training with Raphinha. And finally Robert Lewandowski in preseason.
Barcelona plan to make three more defensive signings this summer. Top on their list is Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
The French defender is awaiting movement in the market, with both Barcelona and Chelsea are in for him.
Football espana reported that Kounde is Barcelona’s first choice of defender as manager Xavi Hernandez believes he can be influential and a versatile option at the back.
The Catalan giants also have an eye on Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta. The Blaugrana is waiting for the Blues to find a suitable replacement for him. The defender wants to join Barcelona as Xavi believes his wealth of experience will help resolve the defence problem.
Barcelona are keen on moving for Marcos Alonso too, but will focus on Azpilicueta and Kounde first. As Alonso is placed second to Azpilicueta.
These moves are aimed at revolutionizing the squad to compete both at domestic and continental level.
