
Former Montpellier Bordeaux manager Jean-Louis Gasset, has been appointed Ivory Coast national team manager on a one-year contract.
The Frenchman, left Bordeaux last summer and has not been engaged with another club.
Gasset was the preferred candidates for the post, and was turned to after it was reported that Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré had turned down the role.
The former Saint Etienne manager succeeds fellow Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle, whose contract expired in April.
He has the chance to activate the option for a further year should the side reach the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.
