Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hailed Kaide Gordon’s after the 17-year-old became the club’s youngster FA Cup scorer in the 4-1 win over Shrewsbury on Sunday.
The game did not start as expected when Shrewsbury took a 27th-minute lead with their first shot on target through Daniel Udo.
However, Liverpool starlet, who at 17 years also became the club’s second-youngest all-time scorer after Ben Woodburn, equalised with a wonderful finish, thereafter Fabinho’s spotkick put them in front just before half-time.
Roberto Firmino’s came off the bench to score his first goal at Anfield since December 2020 with Fabinho putting through the last kick of the game to secure them a place at the fourth- round.
‘Kaide finishing-wise is no doubt, his finishing is exceptional but all the rest he is still a kid,’ said Klopp.
‘When he is in these situations he is really calm. I am not saying he will always score in these situations in the rest of his career but more often than not.
‘He has a nose for it. I know he is the second-youngest goalscorer for Liverpool, which is absolutely exceptional, but there is a way to go.
‘No problem, Kaide has time, he will have his minutes here and there.’
