Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tested positive for coronavirus upon arrival in Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations, although he was struggling for match fitness ahead of the tournament  after missing some games.

Mikel Arteta made the decision to d exclude Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal squad before the New Year, leaving the superstar in a state of confusion with regards to his domestic career, yet this nightmare has now been worsened by the fact he has contracted COVID-19.

The positive test comes four days before the official start of Gabon‘s campaign in Cameroon, and he is likely to miss the opening fixture against Comoros, but will be available for the second game of the group stage against Ghana on January 14.
