Ferran Torres has his first press conference as Barcelona player since his signing was announced on Tuesday, he explained how happy he is to be at the Camp Nou.
The Spanish youngster joined from Manchester City and he believed he will be able to improve as a player and person at the Blaugrana.
“I’m so happy to join this great club,” Torres said in an interview with the Catalan club’s official media.
“I hope to continue to grow as a football player and a person while helping Barcelona to be who they are, one of the best clubs in the world.
“I’m very happy to be here. I think this is a big step in my career in order to continue improving and to continue scoring goals, to grow up as a player and as a person.
“It is a club that is happy with my arrival and I am looking forward to being with this team.”
He further stated that he is excited to work with the head Coach Xavi Hernandez considering his wondeful playing career both at club level and National team.
“I already know about the career Xavi had a player, it’s exquisite,” Torres said.
“Now, as a coach, he is just as good.
“He is just starting, but I know he is the kind of quality coach who can help me in my growth to get better and I am looking forward to being able to be with him.”
Torres also assured support that playing in different positions is his seeing point
“Versatility, as I think I can play any of the three positions up front, which is important if there are injuries or whatever,” he replied.
“I intend to help the team score goals, provide assists and defend.”
