Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola snubbed both Manchester United and Chelsea when he was discussing potential clubs the Borussia Dortmund star could sign for. A transfer battle for the imperious 21-year-old’s signature is expected to take place, when his £64m release clause becomes active next summer.

The Norwegian is the hottest property in football, having already amassed seventeen goals and eight assists in fourteen appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga giants this season.

He has also scored in every single match since he returned from a hip flexor injury, banishing any doubts about his performances with goals against Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich as well as a brace from the bench against Besiktas in the Champions League.

Manchester City, Chelsea, United, Bayern, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, have all been linked with a move for the precocious forward in recent seasons.

However, when detailing Haaland’s potential destinations, Raiola excluded Ralf Rangnick and Thomas Tuchel’s teams from their consideration.

“He will take the next step. Bayern, Real, Barca, City – these are the big clubs he can go to,” Raiola said in an interview with Sport1 (via the Sun).

“When? Maybe this summer, maybe next. But there is a big chance he‘ll leave this summer.”

Reports from ESPN have claimed United interim boss Rangnick mentioned Haaland as a potential target during discussions with football director John Murtough, technical director Darren Fletcher, and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Unfortunately, their chances of signing the Norwegian have become more slender, as Raiola slammed United’s lack of success in comparison with Pep Guardiola’s side.
