Sergino Dest is already planning his Barcelona exit and the USMNT player is hoping to secure a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. After arriving at the club in 2020 from Ajax, when he was also linked with Bayern, Dest was a regular in Ronald Koeman‘s XI during the Dutchman’s time in charge at the club. But, Xavi Hernandez‘s arrival on the bench has seen things change for the 21-year-old.
Xavi‘s return to Catalonia saw the Blaugrana confirm the signing of former full-back Dani Alves, who will be available to play from January on. The Brazilian’s arrival only came as further confirmation of Dest‘s status in the squad, with Oscar Mingueza, Ronald Araujo and Sergi Roberto all also earning minutes on the right of defence instead of the natural full-back.
Dest was included in the starting line-up for Barcelona‘s 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, before being taken off at half time, and El Nacional have reported that the player has made contact with the Bavarians about a potential move.
The Catalans beat Bayern in pursuit of the American in 2020, but now it is thought that they would be willing to listen to offers for his services, and they would likely look to bring in around 30 million euros for him.
The full-back has played 57 times for Barcelona since joining, scoring three goals and providing four assists in his time at the club.
