Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is no longer the head coach of Manchester United, after being sacked by the Red Devils on Sunday. He leaves behind a squad who cared for him, including his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

The pair crossed paths at Old Trafford when a young Ronaldo first joined the club, before going on to work together over the first few months of this disappointing 2021/22 season.

The No.7 had some kind words for the man who is now his former coach, sharing a post on Instagram on Monday morning.

“He’s been my striker when I first came to Old Trafford and he’s been my coach since I came back to Manchester United,” Ronaldo started.

But, most of all, Ole is an outstanding human being. I wish him the best in whatever his life has reserved for him.

“Good luck, my friend! You deserve it!”
