He’s in full training and ready to go

Sergio Ramos PSG

One of Paris Saint-Germain‘s major summer signings who has yet to appear for the French club is Sergio Ramos, but that could soon change as the former Real Madrid captain is finally fit and ready to go.

The Spanish centre-back has endured a frustrating start to his PSG career, limited by injury, but he has now fully recovered and has been taking part in full training. With the medical staff giving the green light, the decision is now in the hands of Mauricio Pochettino as to when Ramos will make his debut.

With his knee operation now well behind him, the 35-year-old has also gotten over the calf problems that had been bothering him and preventing him from training with his teammates since his July arrival in the French capital.

Sergio Ramos‘ PSG debut could now come as soon as Friday, October 15, when the Parisians take on Angers in Ligue 1. Coming so soon after the international break, the timing could even play to Ramos‘ advantage should Pochettino be worried about the varying rest and travel times that some of his players will have had.

Calmness

The PSG coaching staff have never put a date on Ramos‘ return, wary of rushing him and doing further damage. They are looking forward to having him available and have been impressed with his work ethic in rehab, but they have allowed him to do that work without pressure or timescales.

There was never any doubt about his ability to fully recover, but with a squad like PSG‘s, patience is a luxury they can afford.
