Ex-Premier League player Didi Hamann believes it is only a matter of time before Manchester United sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Hamann has unleashed a scathing rant about United’s style of play and lack of progress under Solskjaer, crediting Cristiano Ronaldo for preventing a disaster this season.
Solskjaer is under mounting pressure as United manager amid the club’s faltering start to the 2021/22 season.
The Red Devils are fourth in the Premier League on 14 points after seven games, two behind leaders Chelsea.
But they have had a favourable run of fixtures to start the campaign, with a trip to West Ham United the toughest on paper so far.
United also suffered a humiliating defeat in their Champions League opener at BSC Young Boys before West Ham dumped Solskjaer’s side out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle.
Hamann has labelled United’s form as ‘pathetic’ after their unforgettable summer of business, claiming Solskjaer will eventually lose his job.
He told Sky Sports: “The only reason why Manchester United are still in the race for the Premier League title and doing alright in the Champions League is Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I don’t even want to know where they would be without him and his goals. It is all patchwork. Old Trafford – that used to be the Theatre of Dreams. Right now, it is more like nightmares than dreams.
“Their performance is pathetic at the moment. They just don’t play good football. Sancho is way behind expectations, which I don’t understand
